Middlesbrough based rapper Leddie MC was formerly best known as one-half of L&S alongside fellow Teessider Smoggy. In 2013, the duo dropped their classic, critically acclaimed, debut album Sorry We’re Late. By 2016, L&S split, seeking solo ventures respectively. For Leddie MC this lead to an increase in frequent releases and as a result more gig bookings, radio play and blog placements.

Following 2015’s ‘Home In My Head’ EP produced by long-time collaborator Alex Bailey, Leddie MC launched her debut solo album ‘A Piece Of Cake’ in January 2017. While Alex Bailey co-produced and engineered the LP, ‘A Piece Of Cake’ also featured Leddie MC’s own production reflecting the personal content in the music with her hands-on-approach to the creative process.

As a scholar of hip-hop, Leddie MC honed her craft as a skilled songwriter with multisyllabic rhyme schemes, double time flows and other technical poetry techniques required to earn respect among hip-hop heads. In recent years, she’s embraced the importance of accessible musicality without letting the lyricism suffer, and the progression has been phenomenal.

Leddie MC isn’t short on high profile fans with Chuck D among her supporters, playing her music regularly on his radio show. She’s also been in rotation on BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing, BBC Introducing in the North East, BBC Introducing In Tees, Itch FM and Spark where ‘A Piece Of Cake’ was nominated Album Of The Week.

HHK, UKHH, Wordplay Mag, NARC., Hoochinoo and more have written about the Teessider with RideMusic awarding Leddie MC ‘Artist Of The Week’ and TheRootMusic placing ‘A Piece Of Cake’ in their top ten albums of 2017.

Leddie MC is a regular booking for gigs in the North East of England having supported Sage Francis and B. Dolan’s Epic Beard Men, alongside performing at Twisterella, Evolution Emerging, Music Box, Stockton Calling and The Bridge festivals this summer. She was also booked to support West Coast legend The Game and although he now showed (BOOO!), Leddie wowed the crowd and made a bunch of local fans.

Leddie’s latest offering is her sophomore album ‘Raise A Glass’ released October 30th 2018, working once again with Alex Bailey.
